At Yuty, we know that the beauty industry is a huge contributor in waste production. We have an updated view of the world, and it’s part of our mission to reduce the environmental impact caused by beauty. Whilst Yuty is built to understand and get to know you, we also curate consciously sourced brands.

You can find out more about our view on sustainability here. On Yuty.me, you will find conscious products from independent brands who share our vision of sustainability. They, like us, believe in an economic system that tackles global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution. By creating products differently from the start, they are part of the solution. Hear from 4 conscious beauty brands on Yuty.me why they believe in circularity.

Kitchen Cosmetics

Creating non-negotiably vegan and cruelty-free products, Kitchen Cosmetics is considering health and the environment at every step. Everything is made from only organic and sustainable ingredients. From body scrubs, beard oils to detox pastes, all of their products are packaged in reusable glass bottles and jars.

In their own words: "We've made a commitment to always use repurposed packaging. Our products are all handcrafted and made in small batches. We are the beauty brand that gives back."

NASH + PINO

The everyday drugstore nail polish contains a minimum of 3 toxic ingredients: formaldehyde, toluene, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). NASH + PINO nail lacquers are toxin-free, made without 10 of the most harmful chemicals (Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, Dibutyl Phthalate, Xylene, TPHP, Parabens, Fragrances, and Phthalates) typically found in a drugstore brand. Furthermore, they commit to circularity in packaging: products are mailed in recyclable cardboard boxes, wrapped in tissue paper with soy-based ink, and packed with biodegradable packing peanuts.

In their own words: "We care about what goes on our bodies and how it's sourced. Staggering statistics which suggest women and men combined use 253 different chemicals per day, motivated us to be a part of the solution."

Okiki Skincare

Paying homage to their Nigerian and Ghanaian heritage, Okiki creates handmade skincare products that use only natural and cruelty free ingredients. All of their candles, lotions, bath salts and soaps contain thoughtfully chosen, beneficial ingredients, and even more importantly— are palm oil-free. They commit to creating soap bars rather than soap cleansers to reduce the use of plastic packaging and to leave preservatives out of their products.

In their own words: "Palm oil went from being a product we had at home, to being a product that you would find in lipstick, margarine, pizza dough and chocolate, amongst a long list of things. However, we have opted out of using it in our products, because, as it stands, it is hard to make palm oil sustainable. This is because the current demand outpaces the growth of palm oil and forests continue to be destroyed to meet this demand."

Náu

The brand uses elegantly designed glass, eco-friendly bottles to contain their serums and oils, recyclable plastic made from corn (which has a lower petroleum footprint) for creams, and aluminum (which can be recycled repeatedly without quality loss) for lotions and deodorants. Náu chooses to source their natural ingredients from farms with good zero-waste standards, and their Rosehip Oil is made from the rosehip seed from tea and jam makers— solving a problem and creating a new, beautiful product simultaneously.

In their own words: "Our mission is to create products that retain nature’s inherent goodness in its most potent, rawest form. Being natural, however, is not just something we keep in mind when it comes to the ingredients we use. We respect nature by sourcing our ingredients from zero waste production farms, opting for low carbon-emission extraction processes and utilising reusable and recyclable materials. From soil to skin, sustainability is at the heart of what we do."
